Have a question for those that make soaps. I have been trying to make soap with dried herbs but have ran across the problem of the scent being very faint. Is there something I can add to my soap to “throw the scent” much like candles? Any ideas are appreciated.

    Blessings,

One thing that might help is to use a fresh or reconstituted herb infusion as the water component in melt-and-pour. I wouldn’t take this chance making soap from scratch, but it’s definitely do-able with m-a-p.

You could also add a little compatible essential oil, or add a little myrrh or gum arabic powder as a fixative. Some flowers’ scent gets lost very easily like bohenia and some tea roses. Myrrh and gum arabic help a bit.
